Membership Information

AQA Membership welcomes all individuals with an interest in patchwork and quilting, whether they are beginners, experienced quilters, or simply admirers of the craft. By joining The Australian Quilters Association Inc., you gain access to a wide range of membership entitlements.

• Meeting attendance – Attend day or night meetings of your choice: share ideas, friendship and a love of quilting. Enjoy show-and-tell of members’ work and guest speakers.
• Quilters’ Library – The library is open at monthly meetings, enabling members to borrow a wide range of quilting books.
• AQA Quilt Exhibition – Members have the opportunity to exhibit their work at our biennial exhibition.
• AQA Quilt-In – An annual friendship day, where members and their friends gather for a day of quilting indulgence.
• Stash “clean-outs” and pop-up shops at some meetings.
• Newsletter – “The Quilters Patch” monthly newsletter covering AQA news and activities, and also quilting events happening further afield in Melbourne and throughout Victoria.
• Special Events – Participation in AQA special events such as quilting retreats, bus trips, and community events.
• Improve Skills – Through workshops, skill-share demonstrations and challenges, members can learn/extend quilting skills.
• Website Membership – Members-only access to additional online information, including past newsletters, photos, video tips, information about AQA events, documents and forms.
• Gift Quilt Program – The opportunity to volunteer and contribute to making quilts for those in need.
• Art Quilt Group – This small group meets monthly to explore and experiment with different materials and techniques to extend their quilting in new directions.
