Kaye served as President of AQA in 2014, 2015 and 2016. During that time Kaye and the Committee created connections with and supported charities such as Uplift and Impact, which AQA continues to support today. A link was established with Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute through Anne Franzi-Ford. Anne now regularly attends and supports our Biggest Morning Tea functions. Through all of this Kaye and the committee continued to conduct Symposiums, Exhibitions and a very successful AQIPP with Janet Kidson coordinating.
Kaye worked with a wonderfully supportive Committee and they instigated a number of positive changes. These included updating the computers in the library, facilitating smoother and simpler monthly meetings by removing the reading of the previous minutes, and displaying financials on the noticeboard.
Kaye found her time as President was rewarding as she was able to visit other guilds and related events creating connections for all to work together with the same aim, to promote the love of patchwork and quilting. All of her efforts, together with the Committee, raised the profile of AQA in the quilting community.
Kaye continues to contribute to the smooth running of AQA by preparing and posting the monthly Newsletter along with other volunteers. Kaye also coordinates the night meetings in Surrey Hills with the assistance of Alexa Collins. Kaye serves as the Sharing and Caring contact and provides assistance and encouragement to members at all times. Her contribution is invaluable.
